Theodoros Tsiftsis was born in Lamia, Greece, in November 1970. He received the degree in Physics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1993, and the M.Sc. degree in Digital Systems Engineering from the Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland, U.K., in 1995. Also, he received the M.Sc. degree in Decision Sciences from the Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece, in 2000 and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Patras, Greece, in 2006. He is currently a Professor in the School of Electrical & Information Engineering at Jinan University (Zhuhai campus), Zhuhai, China. He has authored or co-authored over 180 technical papers in scientific journals and international conferences. His research interests include the broad areas of cooperative communications, cognitive radio, communication theory, wireless powered communication systems, optical wireless communication systems.

Dr. Tsiftsis is currently an Area Editor for Wireless Communications II of the IEEE Transactions on Communications and an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing. He has served as Senior or Associate Editor in the Editorial Boards of the IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IEEE Communications Letters, IEICE Transactions on Communications and IET Communications.
