    Dear Ujm,

I understood it to mean only departures are affected.

    Dear Gadol,

I prefer two shorter flights to one longer one.

“Cheap – less the 200 a night in that area“

Look at Airbnb they have 100 a night (you’re right it’s a whole in the wall but we don’t need much just a place to sleep)

“fyi just booked tickets for under 900$ Newark to Tel Aviv with stopover in Atlanta for July“

Yeah with delta ($888) but that doesn’t include luggage

There’s a jfk to tlv on delta with a stopover in Boston for a little more expensive (1050) and it comes with a suitcase (this was for the date I checked in august)

I don’t really have an opinion on the topic (meaning that my opinion, and or my ego are not large enough that I’m going to try to push it forcefully on anybody), but when I personally flew to Israel I davened in my seat.
You do what works for you, there’s a Rabbi with that opinion almost any way you go. or, more advisable, talk to your own rabbi.

Nomesorah: Its a matter of preference. I so hate the airport check/in boarding process to the extent that one long non-stop flight is my choice wherever possible w/o a connection as long as I can get an upgrade to business (very infrequent) or premium economy on the aisle so I can get up and strech every hour or so. Otherwise, I agree and would never do a 10-12 hour flight if there is a risk of center or window seat. (Some like the window seats on overnight flights because its easier to sleep. I generally can’t get more than 2 hrs nap on an airplane, even with an Ambien.)

Flying Al Italia (O’H) always ensured that you will daven with kavanah the whole way (and some extra time). A good chance, others were davening with you, so you can think you are in a minyan. I once enquired of Polish catholic stewardesses whether there is a place for davening and they said that the plane will definitely benefit from tefilos and cleared an area for me, and gave me extra raw carrots after that.

    Bump

So I’m going in a couple of weeks and wanted to see gedolim in Bnei Brak (Rav Moshe Hillel Hirsch for one) how does one go about doing it?

I also heard that there’s a tram that goes from the airport to Yerushalayim, does it make sense to take that back to Tel Aviv and then take a bus to Bnei Brak since it’s closer?

There is a bus direct from Yerushlayim to Bnei Brak, so why should you take the train plus the bus, it will not work out much faster.

And the buses go straight from Geula and surrounding neighborhoods

    Coffeecup,

Doesn’t the train take twenty minutes?
