Israel’s elite Airborne Combat Rescue And Evacuation Unit 669 evacuated an elderly American woman from a cruise ship in the Mediterranean early Thursday morning.

The 70-year-old woman, who had suffered a heart attack, was flown to Rambam Hospital in Haifa.

According to an Israeli military source, the rescue was carried out at the request of US officials.

    It’s called a MEDIVAC, not a rescue!
    Israeli navy simply happened to be the closest! Common courtesy extended by most, if not all, countries under international maritime law!
