The FrumguyParticipant
Who did you switch to?
The FrumguyParticipantI would tend to disagree.
Almost all of the times when I’m benching with a Zimun, the Mevarech says “Birshus Hakohanim.”
Perhaps I hang out with folks who are “on a high madriegah.”The FrumguyParticipantSince when did the Coffee Room become a vehicle for fundraising?
The FrumguyParticipantExactly which Poskim by name, on the level of Rav Moshe, permit carrying in the Brooklyn Eruv?
The FrumguyParticipantIt’s on the 1985 album titled “Borchi Nafshi.”
The label spells it “Mushka.”The FrumguyParticipantWhich do you think was used in the קטורת?
The FrumguyParticipantI was at Avenue R today and the trees are certainly in full bloom.
A Gut Mo’ed to all!The FrumguyParticipantLast year there was no viewing of the trees (I think due to Covid).
The FrumguyParticipantI didn’t know Lipa was Lubavitch…
The FrumguyParticipantYes, Baruch Hashem we can all read. What is your point?
The FrumguyParticipantLebidik Yankel:
Much Hatzlacha! — I think that there is a real need for one.The FrumguyParticipantYou know, Tznius also applies to men (and women) walking in the streets, in stores, in lobbies, etc. speaking excessively loudly on a cellphone speaker…
Talk about calling attention to oneself.
The FrumguyParticipantDespite your efforts, the moderators won’t allow any personal contact between posters.
Hatzlacha anyway. The FrumguyParticipantSince when did The Coffee Room become a medium for advertising?
The FrumguyParticipantWhy not ask about Bochurim home for Bein Ha’Zemanim? I see them walking to Rav Landau’s shul well past 11:15 every morning. Some Talmidim don’t seem to pick up much from learning in Yeshiva…
The FrumguyParticipantReb Eliezer:
What is the purpose of simply copying a link which everybody has already seen? Was anything accomplished by that?November 2, 2020 3:01 pm at 3:01 pm in reply to: Daati Leumi/RZ Rabbonim call on public to vote for Donald Trump #1916087The FrumguyParticipantYes, but it doesn’t say that in the statement. They are each listed with their titles as representing their organizations.
November 2, 2020 12:01 pm at 12:01 pm in reply to: Daati Leumi/RZ Rabbonim call on public to vote for Donald Trump #1916020The FrumguyParticipantHow can non-profit organizations (they have offices collecting donations here in America) endorse a candidate?
October 6, 2020 1:08 pm at 1:08 pm in reply to: Tehilim for President Donald John ben Fred Trump #1907286The FrumguyParticipantWhy not Donald John ben Mary Anne (mother’s name should be used)?
The FrumguyParticipantAlways try http://www.godaven .com for minyanim. They’re a great resource.
The FrumguyParticipantThe moderators don’t allow Coffee Roomer to Coffee Roomer contact. No way to be in touch.
The FrumguyParticipantWho here thought that this was about a highway up in Sullivan County?
The FrumguyParticipantThere are plenty in today’s media that call it as it is. Mark Levine, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Ben Shaprio and locally, there’s Mark Simone, amongst others, all speak out with the truth.
The FrumguyParticipantVelvel Pasternack, Z”L, had published several Jewish sheet music books many, many years ago.
The FrumguyParticipantThank you and Yasher Koachem.
The FrumguyParticipantIt’s not only Yidden. ALL doctors and nurses are putting themselves at risk as well as police, firefighters, truck drivers, sanitation workers and even grocery store folks. We owe all of them a Hakoras Hatov.
The FrumguyParticipantSomeone in Monsey, that’s an interesting take.
akuperma: I certainly am not “blaming” Hashem. Just inquiring that it seems quite extreme to punish us by using Tefillah B’Tzibbur and Limud Hatorah.
February 25, 2020 11:23 am at 11:23 am in reply to: Pesach Catering and Take Out Yerushalayim #1835362The FrumguyParticipantPerhaps contact HaRav Rubin’s office directly. If anyone, they would know to whom they are giving Hashgacha during Pesach.
Hatzlacha.February 18, 2020 11:27 am at 11:27 am in reply to: Did Rav Shmuel Kaminetzky write the Dirshu article in last week’s publications #1832780The FrumguyParticipantIf that is so, that it wasn’t the Philadelphia Rosh Yeshiva, I find it extremely misleading.
The FrumguyParticipantSorry, never saw that message.
The FrumguyParticipantDo they follow a calendar like Daf Yomi?
The FrumguyParticipantI heard that Rav Noach Weinberg ZT”L told one of “his boys” who said it was difficult for him to give up secular music, that it’s not such an “avlah” to listen if that’s the only thing preventing him from becoming frum.
November 22, 2019 10:59 am at 10:59 am in reply to: Is it okay to learn (Torah) During Davening? #1803355The FrumguyParticipantThe Mishna Berura says openly that it is not allowed to learn during Chazoras Hashatz.
In addition, what kind of Kavanah can someone have if his mind is split between Davening and learning? The FrumguyParticipantYasher Koach, Red Adair.
There’s nothing wrong with reminding fellow Yidden how to act as Mentchen. I personally shop at KRM Supermarket and whenever I park down the block or see a stray cart, I bring it back to the store.October 31, 2019 7:27 pm at 7:27 pm in reply to: How much $$$ does a typical Frum family spend on groceries per week? #1796381The FrumguyParticipantMy family of six spends about $165 per week. Not including Yomim Tovim. But then again, we shop at KRM Supermarket (lowest prices).
The FrumguyParticipantWhere was the cop stationed? If he/she was behind you then how could he /she know that your brights were on? Was he/she on the other side of the highway? How did he/she get to you — by crossing over the divider?
The FrumguyParticipantYes, I try to be extremely makpid. Boruch Hashem for Artscroll — they designate the havarah and shva’s clearly.
The FrumguyParticipantDid anyone hear that it’s to scare off the Ayin Harah?
The FrumguyParticipantAccording to historical reports, Hitler, Yemach Shemo, actually commissioned the Volkswagen Corporation to build cars to suit him and the Third Reich. That’s why I chose Volkswagen.
The FrumguyParticipantHeargod: Part of Germany’s reparations to Israel for World War II was the export of its cars at highly- subsidized prices. So taking “advantage” of this by buying a German car is the way Israelis help Germany “make good” (if possible) on reparations. This doesn’t apply to Americans buying these cars.
The FrumguyParticipantYes, Mr. Addict. Exactly.
December 2, 2018 2:08 pm at 2:08 pm in reply to: Your 21 year old son may be ready for marriage #1635291The FrumguyParticipantI’m sure that 99.99% of parents, when asked, will claim that their son is mature enough to get married. I hate to break it to them, but most of them are NOT.
I encounter Beis Medrash bochurim daily and see how tremendously selfish and uncaring they are. Parents need to have a reality check when it comes to marrying off their children. The FrumguyParticipantTo Chabadshlucha:
I would venture to say that your number 1 is quite universal. All frum Jews believe in that. It’s not necessarily a Lubavitch idea.November 12, 2018 10:15 pm at 10:15 pm in reply to: Is there a word in davening that you always mispronounced? #1621758The FrumguyParticipantWay too many shlichei tzibbur mispronounce Hakadosh Baruch Hu’s name. It is with a cholam (Adonai), not a cheerek (Adeenai).
I believe the tzibbur is not even allowed to answer Amen when it’s mispronounced. The FrumguyParticipantYes, there are ads, including a movie theater (FEH — TRAIF!).
The FrumguyParticipantIt is put out by folks that have NO CLUE as to what’s going on in Flatbush. Although the neighborhood is turning more frum, they insist on TV schedules, sports “star” interviews, glorifying Medinas Yisroel and plagiarizing the letters sent in to this very Coffee Room.
July 19, 2018 7:28 am at 7:28 am in reply to: Need Help with a 6:30AM Shachris Minyan Brooklyn #1561403The FrumguyParticipantHow long does the davening take?
The FrumguyParticipantMazal Tov CTLAWYER. What’s a “Yuntif??”
The FrumguyParticipantjakob:
I assume you mean Motzei Yom Tov Sunday night?
I’m also not looking for a full-catered meal — I see macaroons & seltzer playing a big part. -
