To emphasize what was reiterated so many times….

I had a conversation with a Chabad bachur many years ago when I was a young impretionable bachur myself. We were sitting next to each other in an airport. I had a sefer with me (Derech Hashem from the Ramchal) and this chabd bachur who was a few years my senior started making deragetory comments against the sefer and litvishe Yeshiva bachurim in general.
I was very shaken up and tried not to get confrontational with him and told him that I just know what we are told by our Gedolim…
His retort which still repulses me 25 plus years later was…
“Do you mean the “Gedolim” of Siman Gimmel in Shulchan Aruch?”
I think everyone can understand the meaning and depravity of that comment told to a young innocent 17 year old Yeshiva boy trying to mind his own buisness.
But of course this was all in the name of saving a poor lost soul from eternal Snag damnation.
    G-D bless his soul

    Just to add to @someday

Rav Yerucham Z”L writes that a person today can be learning a sefer from someone many generations ago and little does he know that he is bigger than the writer of the sefer.

    @Menachem

Of course not. But if someone finds he “can’t” keep Shabbos anymore he is by defenition not frum. But if he “can’t” eat cholov yisroel that is not the case. The same would be about the Yeshiva guy who “can’t” wear a hat and jacket or the Satmar guy who starts eating OU.

I was told of someone who was looking desperatly erev Yom Kippur for a chicken for kapporres and wouldn’t hear the tzad to use money, but was saying he doesn’t plan on fasting because “Hashem loves me and for sure doesn’t care if I fast or not”

When we start mixing up minhagim with chiyuvei krissus it gets a bit mishkebabal and we lose focus on what’s a frum Jew and what is not.

And so is fasting on !7 Tammuz and 9 BeAv not deoiraissa.

I say this because i find it important to diffrenciate. I know of a Chabad person who went OTD because she ate Cholov Stam and then threw in the towel (nebach) because anyways she did an aveirah….

Even leshitoscho that Mashiach’s job is to teach Elokus why can’t that be done with Ramchal or Sifrei Hagroh? Did the sifrei Chabad put a copywrite on understanding Elokus? Do you think Kabbalah was invented in Lebavitch? The Rishoinim had the Keballah and the Sefardim wrote numerous Kabballah seforim.
Besides saying “Chassidus” and referring only to sifrei Chabad is offensive to all the other Chassideshe seforim. Are they not also “Chassidus”??? Where they pashut not understanding their Rebbe the Baal Shem and the Mezritcher? Only the Baal Hatanya and his descentants understood it?

I agree with Jackk on a practical level but we know famously from Rav Miller Zatzal that he held voting Democrat is a Chilul Hashem. And we can’t make cheshbonos when it comes to chilul Hashem.

If you can’t get yourself to vote for the idiot on the Republican ballot I fully understand. But then rather don’t vote at all.

Your interpetation is definetely the pshat that meets the eye “al pe derech hatevah” but Chassid Yaavetz was referring to the underlying cause what brought so many Yidden to convert r”l an more why did HKB”H bring the gzeira in the first place.
Similarly to the Neis Purim which is a natural chain of events but Chazal tell us it was because they partook in Achashveirosh’s seudah and/or they bowed to Nevuchanetzar’s tzelem.

And he moved the embassy to Yerushelaim.
Defenitly more than any Rebbe did.
And he has kids to be yoitze the Rambam.
And they are even Jewish. Maybe.
And he is having a second coming. Hope not.

They are barely any left. Yemach Shmoi took care of that 85 years ago. All “Litvishe” today are either full blooded Hungarians, Romanians, Yekkes or a mix. Almost all minus the Yekkes and Oberlanders shtam from Chassidim. They just learned in “Litvish” yeshivos.
But real blue blooded “Litivise” barely exist. Same with the Poilisher. Almost the whole Ger Chassidus hails from Hungary etc.

Why do Chabanicks call people from the Yeshiva world “snags”?
Isn’t that meant as a derogetory name?
Wouldn’t that be quite opposite from their “Achdus” shittah?
I mean if they can respect all nonjewish people wouldn’t it be ok to give some decent respect to fellow Jews?
Or is it because they are great great grandchildren of the one who “sic” put the Baal Hatanya in jail?

Please explain. Really trying to understand.

The fact is you can go into many large chabad centers/shuls and barely find a full set of shas. Somtimes an old disregarded old print Choson Shas someone gave away due to lack of interest. Rav Elya Svei Zatztal lamented about this 20 plus years ago in a drosho in Lakewood when being maspid Rav Aaaron Zatzal. Its a fact. Go check yourself. I’v seen it and you can too.

I was in one chabad huge shul where they had a whole library of sichos and books all about the Rebbe Shlita and one set of Shulchan Aruch Harav hidden away. A bunch of Rambams in many languages and one old never used set of shas on bottom shelf covered in dust.
Its as if torah shel baal pe has been taken over by the Rebbe,s sichos and nothing else exists . BH they spared the Rambam from the dustbin.

That very well may be true, but Rav Miller’s main issue wasn.t the people of the Democratic party rather their anti Torah veiws of liberalism and decadence of morality. Not the actions of some goyim but the ideology that we are voting for by voting Democrat he held was a huge chillul hashem to endorce.
